Ric Flair has apparently had enough of agents, and his latest story explains exactly why. The Nature Boy claims the person representing him right now owes him a staggering $1.25 million, while his past experiences with agents have allegedly been even messier.

Speaking to NewsNation, Flair was asked whether he had an agent during his wrestling career and who handled his contracts. He didn’t exactly have anything nice to say about the people who have represented him over the years.

“Agents are bad words. I’ve had three and they all stunk. I’ve got one right now that owes me 1.25 million dollars.”

That number immediately caught the host off guard, but Flair wasn’t joking around. Instead, he used his own experience to offer one very simple piece of advice to anyone dealing with an agent.

“Yeah. If you were going to ask me for any advice, anybody going forward, never become friends with your agent.”

Flair believes mixing friendship with business is where things can get ugly. According to him, agents know exactly what their clients want to hear, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll have their backs when money gets involved.

“Always remember they — they’re going to talk to you, but they make you hear what you want to hear, but they’ll stab you in the back the first chance they have.”

When the host asked whether Flair had dealt with people owing him money before, Flair made it clear this isn’t just some old grudge he’s still carrying around. He claims he’s dealing with financial issues right now: “Right now I’m going through it.” That’s when the conversation took a much darker turn. Flair brought up his near-death health crisis in 2017 and claimed people were taking advantage of him financially while he was literally on life support.

“When I was dying in 2017 on life support, everybody stole everything I had.”

Flair spent 31 days in intensive care and says he was given only a 5% chance of survival. According to Flair, some of the people around him were already thinking about what would happen to his money and property if he didn’t make it. Flair then singled out one unnamed former agent with another serious allegation. He claims that person took $150,000 from him during that period.

“Everybody — my agent stole all my stuff because they knew once I died — I had a 5% chance to live, 31 days in ICU — and they all knew that when I died, um, that it would go into my will. They wouldn’t be able to get it.”

“So they stole — my one agent stole $150,000.”

According to Flair, there was an even bigger prize people allegedly wanted to get their hands on — his intellectual property. He claims someone tried to get Wendy to sign over those rights while he was incapacitated, though he deliberately stopped short of naming who was involved.

“And I’m one of two wrestlers that owns his intellectual property, and they were trying to heist my — I won’t say who — were trying to get every — I mean, get Wendy to sign my intellectual property over to them.”

Flair didn’t name the current agent he claims owes him $1.25 million, and he didn’t explain exactly how that debt came about. Still, between that claim and what he says happened while he was fighting for his life in 2017, it’s pretty easy to understand why the Nature Boy now treats “agent” like a four-letter word.
