Rhea Ripley has broken her silence following the news that she’ll miss SummerSlam—and she clearly isn’t in the mood for the internet.
Just days after WWE announced the Women’s Champion won’t be medically cleared to compete because of her torn meniscus, Ripley logged onto Twitter and unloaded on what she described as the platform’s “tiny little idiotic humans.”
“There are a lot of tiny little idiotic humans on this app. Literally good for nothing, know nothing, hypocritical, terrible excuses for humans… The amount of delusion is funny af 🤣👏🏼 Literal jokes.
If this triggers you, then it’s directed at YOU.
Hope this helps 😘”
Ripley never explained exactly who she was talking about, but the timing immediately caught fans’ attention. The post comes just days after WWE confirmed she’ll be forced to sit out SummerSlam, ending any chance of defending the Women’s Championship at one of the company’s biggest shows of the year.
Before the July 17 episode of SmackDown, Adam Pearce announced that Ripley’s recovery from a torn meniscus is progressing, but not quickly enough for her to receive medical clearance in time for SummerSlam. Instead of vacating the title, WWE chose to introduce an interim Women’s Champion, with five Superstars set to battle in a ladder match to decide who carries the championship until Ripley returns.
Ripley has previously opened up about the injury, revealing that she tore her meniscus in a “weird spot,” making it impossible for doctors to predict exactly when she’ll be ready to compete again. While she said the knee is getting stronger, she admitted she still can’t bend it properly and continues to deal with pain.
As WWE moves forward with an interim champion, Ripley appears to be dealing with another battle away from the ring. Whether her latest post was aimed at fans questioning her injury, critics online, or someone else entirely, one thing is certain—Mami isn’t interested in biting her tongue.
