Seth Rollins has been away from WWE television since SummerSlam, and while fans have seen him back in the ring at live events, they’re still waiting for him to make his return to Raw. A new report has now offered a clearer picture of what’s going on behind the scenes.

After losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, Rollins stepped away from TV. He later confirmed that he was healthy enough to wrestle non-televised events during WWE’s South American and Mexico tour, saying he was simply taking his time and would return when the moment felt right. There were also previous reports that WWE had considered bringing him back at Money in the Bank before changing direction.

Now, Dave Meltzer has added another piece to the puzzle. Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that Rollins is dealing with a minor injury, but it’s not expected to keep him out much longer.

“Rollins has what was called a minor injury so they are giving him time to heal up, but he could be back if needed now or soon and the idea is to bring him back for maximum impact when it is right at this point.”

So while there is an injury involved, it doesn’t sound like that’s the main reason Rollins is still off television. According to the report, WWE could bring him back now if they wanted to, but the current plan is to wait until the timing makes the biggest impact.

That lines up with what Rollins has been saying publicly. He hasn’t hinted at a return date and doesn’t seem too concerned about getting back on TV immediately. Instead, it looks like both Rollins and WWE are happy to be patient until the right storyline presents itself.
