Kevin Owens was originally set to be part of WrestleMania 42 weekend—but now there’s an update on why his appearance was suddenly scrapped.
WWE recently informed fans that Owens would no longer appear at WWE World in Las Vegas, canceling his scheduled autograph and photo op sessions. The company sent out an email confirming the situation, leaving many wondering what led to the last-minute decision.
“Dear fan, Kevin Owens is no longer able to make it to WWE World at WrestleMania 42. Unfortunately, this means your photo op or autograph has been canceled.”
That last-minute cancelation immediately led to questions, especially with Owens already out of in-ring action and not expected to compete at WrestleMania. But now, more clarity has emerged. Speaking on the post-Raw show, Sean Ross Sapp addressed the situation and revealed that the reason behind Owens being pulled isn’t anything serious or controversial. It just wasn’t a good time.
“I was told that him being pulled from WWE World isn’t anything salacious. It just wasn’t a good time, so they pulled him.”
Owens hasn’t competed since the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 and has been recovering after undergoing neck surgery, which previously scrapped plans for a major WrestleMania program. While there’s still no confirmed timeline for his return, WWE remains hopeful he could be back before the end of the year if recovery continues on track.
Even without an in-ring role or WWE World appearance, Owens remains part of WWE’s broader plans, including his upcoming role as a coach on WWE LFG set to premiere later this month. For now, this update makes one thing clear—Owens’ absence from WWE World wasn’t due to anything major, just timing not lining up.
