Seth Rollins vanished from WWE television after Roman Reigns beat him at SummerSlam, and there hasn’t been much explanation for it. Three weeks later, there’s finally an answer—and a rough idea of when he could be back.
During an August 24 Q&A session, WrestleVotes was asked what has been going on with Rollins since his SummerSlam loss. According to what they’ve been told, WWE deliberately pulled him off television for a while.
“Everything I’ve been told, it’s a simple break. It’s not an injury, it’s creative.”
WrestleVotes also indicated that Rollins won’t be gone for much longer. A return this week or next week doesn’t appear likely, but Money in the Bank was specifically mentioned as the general timeframe.
“He won’t be out long. Don’t think it’s this week or next week, but around Money in the Bank or so.”
Rollins hasn’t appeared since August 2, when he challenged Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in the SummerSlam Night Two main event. The former Shield brothers fought through the crowd, crashed through both announce tables and threw practically everything they had at each other. Rollins landed multiple Pedigrees and Stomps, while Reigns even used Rollins’ own Stomp against him.
Rollins still couldn’t finish him. Reigns eventually caught Rollins with two Spears before hitting a third after another referee arrived, finally getting the three-count and retaining the World Heavyweight Championship. That was the last time Rollins appeared.
Rollins walked out of SummerSlam without the World Heavyweight Championship and then disappeared. Now it looks like fans only have a few more weeks to wait before finding out what WWE has planned for him next.
