Randy Orton is wasting no time getting back in front of the WWE audience after wrecking Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. Orton’s next appearance has now been confirmed for the August 7 episode of WWE SmackDown at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The venue announced that “The Viper” will be in the building just days after his shocking return during the Undisputed WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. The arena is also pushing a ticket promotion tied to the announcement.
“JUST ANNOUNCED! The Viper Randy Orton returns to SmackDown after RKOing Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.”

Orton returned on night one of SummerSlam on August 1 and immediately made his presence felt. With the referee down, Orton hit Rhodes with an RKO, opening the door for Punk to capitalize and retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The attack picked up where things left off earlier this year. Rhodes defeated Orton in the main event of WrestleMania 42 night one back in April, but Orton attacked Rhodes after the match before disappearing from WWE television.Now he is back, and there is no mystery about who he has a problem with.
WWE has not announced exactly what Orton will do on SmackDown, but after costing Rhodes another shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship, there is plenty for “The Viper” to explain in Philadelphia.
Orton’s SummerSlam return was not a random cameo. His SmackDown appearance confirms that the story is continuing, and Cody Rhodes may have an RKO waiting for him again if he decides to come looking for payback.
