R-Truth is trading the WWE ring for the NFL hype machine, and the Carolina Panthers picked the perfect guy to get their fanbase fired up.
The longtime Panthers fan narrates Carolina’s new 2026 season trailer, “Answer the Call,” which was released ahead of the team’s Week 1 opener against the Chicago Bears. The video mixes highlights from last season with training camp footage as Truth delivers a full-on motivational speech about pressure, work and answering when the moment comes. The Panthers officially confirmed Truth’s involvement in the trailer on September 11.
Truth opens by making the entire thing sound like a challenge directly to the players. From there, the WWE veteran pushes the idea that the work has already been done and now it’s time for Carolina to prove it when things get uncomfortable.
“When that call hits Carolina, you answer. You don’t flinch. You pick it up and you deliver. That’s going to be a Panthers touchdown.”
“You gave the grind everything it asked for. Drops of sweat that fell as proof in the only place that matter. The work pressure hits the heavy. We dial the heat up.”
Truth then cranks the intensity up even more as the football footage rolls. He closes the message by making it clear that Carolina can’t afford to coast into the new season.
“These movies aren’t gentle. They hit like a helmet to the bridge. Lean into it.”
“Here, half speed gets buried. Full speed gets real scary. So don’t wait. Take what won’t be handed. Answer the call.”
Truth’s involvement isn’t some random celebrity cameo either. He’s from Charlotte and has been a Panthers supporter for years, with the WWE star previously showing up at games to support his hometown team.
Carolina is entering 2026 as the defending NFC South champion after finishing atop the division in 2025 and earning its first division title since 2015. The Panthers clearly wanted somebody with Carolina roots and enough personality to sell the moment, and Truth fits both boxes. Now the speech is done — Carolina just has to make sure it can live up to it once the season actually starts.
