Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser’s bloody Mask vs. Mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes had another WWE name involved behind the scenes
According to Mexican journalist Ernesto Ocampo, Pete Dunne was the producer for the match between Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano and Chad Gable’s Original El Grande Americano. Ocampo noted that Dunne has not received much credit for his work on the feud and match.
“Someone who hasn’t been credited for the El Grande Americano vs. Original Grande Americano feud at #AAANocheDeLosGrandes is Pete Dunne, who was the producer of that match.”
That is a notable detail considering how much praise the match received after AAA Noche de Los Grandes. Gable and Kaiser delivered a violent main event filled with chairs, tables, guitars, outside interference, and blood before Kaiser finally scored the win.
The stipulation forced Gable to unmask after losing the Original El Grande Americano name. After the match, a bloodied Gable addressed the crowd, admitted he could not overcome the Mexican spirit, and acknowledged Kaiser as the one true El Grande Americano. Gable then removed his mask, introduced his family to the crowd, handed the mask to Kaiser, and promised that he would return to AAA someday.
With this update, Dunne’s role behind the scenes gives the match even more context. The bout was already one of AAA’s biggest moments of the year, and now it appears Dunne helped put together the match that ended Gable’s run under the mask.
