TNA may be trying to keep its next Knockouts division move under wraps, but the cat might already be out of the bag.

As noted yesterday, a new women’s championship had been pitched inside TNA. The early word was that it would be some kind of midcard title for the Knockouts division, but the name of the belt was still a mystery.

During Wrestling Observer Radio on June 25, 2026, Bryan Alvarez brought up the idea of TNA adding another women’s championship, and Dave Meltzer quickly narrowed down what fans may be getting. Meltzer claimed the belt is expected to be a Women’s TV Championship. He also said the announcement could come by the end of the week, likely at Slammiversary.

“Women’s TV title. They’re going to announce it. The story is they’re going to announce it by the end of the week, you know, probably at the pay per view. But yes, TNA women’s TV title. So that’s something else for slammiversary, that announcement or something. Something of that nature, I was told. Women’s TV championship.”

There has also been talk of a women’s tournament planned for July. If TNA really is bringing in a Women’s TV Championship, that tournament could be the cleanest way to crown the first champion without just handing someone a belt on television.

TNA has been dealing with plenty of backstage changes lately, and this would be a fast way to shake up the Knockouts division on-screen. The bigger story now is whether TNA still waits for Slammiversary to make it official, or if the surprise has already been blown.
