WWE Crown Jewel already has a pretty loaded card, but it looks like WWE might have another match waiting in the chamber. And considering what’s been going down on SmackDown lately, this one shouldn’t exactly come as a shock.
GUNTHER vs. Finn Balor is now being advertised locally for Crown Jewel on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The match appeared on promotional material being set up at one of the gates at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, where Crown Jewel is scheduled to take place next weekend.
WWE has yet to officially announce GUNTHER vs. Balor for the show, so for now it should still be treated as a locally advertised match instead of a confirmed addition to the card. Of course, local advertisements can always change.
Still, WWE putting those two guys together at Crown Jewel would make plenty of sense. GUNTHER and Balor have been going at each other throughout October on SmackDown, and things have gotten increasingly personal between them. One of the biggest moments came when Balor straight-up slapped GUNTHER during their confrontation, which obviously wasn’t something The Ring General was going to just forget about.
If the match becomes official, it would join Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship, Liv Morgan vs. Chelsea Green for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match, and The Vision defending the World Tag Team Championship against Penta and Je’Von Evans.
For now, WWE still has to actually make the announcement. But with Balor already putting his hands on GUNTHER and the match now popping up on advertising at the venue itself, WWE certainly isn’t doing much to hide where this whole thing could be heading.
