AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has a loaded card, but it sounds like AEW already knows which match is getting the final spot.

According to Fightful Select, the internal belief is that Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay is planned to close tonight’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

“The internal belief is that Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay is planned as the main event.”

That means AEW could be ending the night with the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final instead of the huge steel cage match or any of the title matches on the show.

It makes sense. Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay is one of the biggest matches on the card, and the winner gets a shot at the AEW World Championship at All In. That is a major prize, especially with All In taking place in London.

Ospreay has been chasing huge moments in AEW, and Swerve is still one of the company’s top stars. Putting them in the closing match sends a pretty clear message about how important AEW sees this tournament final.

AEW has not officially announced the final match order, so things can always change. Still, if Swerve vs. Ospreay closes Forbidden Door, then AEW is banking on them to end the night with a major statement. As a reminder, Ringside News will have live play-by-play coverage of the event over in our AEW Forbidden Door section.
