Paul Walter Hauser is getting ready to challenge Steve Corino for the PWF Championship on September 20, but before stepping into the ring, he decided to find out just how famous the “King of Old School” actually is.
The answer from Hollywood was brutal. Hauser took to Instagram and posted a video featuring a lineup of recognizable actors and celebrities, all answering one very simple question: Who is Steve Corino? Several people immediately fired back with some version of, “Who the f** is Steve Corino?”* — which was clearly exactly what Hauser wanted. Johnny Knoxville admitted he had no idea who Corino was before roasting both his name and, without even seeing him, his face.
“I don’t know who Steve Corino is. What a forgettable name. Probably’s got a forgettable face to go along with it.”
Christopher Mintz-Plasse, best known to millions as McLovin from Superbad, didn’t exactly help Corino’s case either. His reaction to hearing the name was even more disrespectful.
“The name leaves a s**ty ass taste in my mouth.”*
Dave Bautista had no problem recognizing Paul Walter Hauser, but Steve Corino sent him into a full-on guessing game as he repeatedly butchered the wrestling veteran’s name.
“Yeah, Paul Walter Hauser, I’ve heard of him. Whole world’s heard of him. Steve Canero? Camino? Steve Ca-Rhyno? The f** is a Ca-Ryno?”*
Matthew Lillard kept things much shorter when Corino’s name came up.
“Steve Corino? Who is this mook?”
Hauser eventually stopped letting Hollywood do the talking and cut his own promo on Corino. He made it clear that he knows exactly who Corino is, knows what he has accomplished in wrestling and knows the kind of opponent waiting for him on September 20. That still didn’t stop Hauser from claiming Corino has a fame problem — one he plans on fixing personally when they meet in North Carolina.

Hauser also name-dropped Sam Rockwell, Giovanni Ribisi, Ethan Suplee, Judd Apatow, Jonathan Tucker, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Johnny Knoxville, Matthew Lillard and Dave Bautista before referring to himself as Corino’s “mercenary.”
It’s all building toward Hauser challenging Corino for the Premier Wrestling Federation Championship on September 20. Corino has spent decades making his name inside professional wrestling, but Hauser just found a completely different way to mess with him before the bell even rings.
If Corino wanted some extra attention heading into his title defense, he definitely got it. The downside is that it came with McLovin saying his name leaves a terrible taste in his mouth, Knoxville calling it forgettable and Bautista trying to figure out what the hell a “Ca-Rhyno” is.
