The War Raiders are leaving AAA Noche de los Grandes with championship gold, but the biggest story may be the apparent breakup of Pagano and Psycho Clown. Moments after losing the AAA Tag Team Championship, Pagano walked away while his longtime partner was being attacked in the ring.
The match started fast as Erik and Ivar tried to attack before the bell. Pagano and Psycho Clown were ready for them, but the challengers eventually took control and kept Psycho Clown trapped in their corner for much of the match.
The champions rallied late when Psycho Clown finally tagged in Pagano. He came in on fire, hitting a second-rope Codebreaker and a tornado DDT on Ivar outside the ring.
Pagano and Psycho Clown looked close to retaining their titles after hitting several big moves, including a Psycho Driver and a top-rope leg drop. However, Erik managed to break up the pin before the match could end.
The turning point came when Pagano accidentally kicked Psycho Clown while trying to hit Ivar. The mistake opened the door for The War Raiders to take advantage. Ivar quickly sent Pagano to the floor and pinned Psycho Clown to win the AAA Tag Team Championship.
The title loss immediately led to problems between the former champions.
After the match, Pagano and Psycho Clown got into a heated argument. The two shoved each other, got face-to-face, and started yelling in the middle of the ring.
Then things got even worse.
The War Raiders suddenly jumped Psycho Clown from behind. Instead of helping his partner, Pagano turned around and walked away. He even looked back and saw Psycho Clown being attacked, but kept walking to the back without coming to his aid.
The War Raiders may have won the AAA Tag Team Championship, but the image fans will remember is Pagano leaving Psycho Clown behind. After everything that happened at Noche de los Grandes, it certainly looks like their partnership may be finished.
