Orange Cassidy has heard the talk about his sunglasses, and apparently fans have been getting one thing dead wrong.

During a conversation with Extreme Channel, Cassidy was asked what fans assume about him that is completely wrong. There are plenty of directions he could have gone with that answer. He could have talked about his attitude, his work ethic, or whether he actually cares more than he lets on. Instead, Cassidy went straight for the Ray-Bans.

“These are real Ray-Bans. People don’t think that they are, but these are real and I buy them and then when they’ve run their course, that’s when I’ll give them away, but they’re real. Like, I buy real Ray-Bans. I don’t see what the problem is.”

The interviewer joked that Cassidy should put that on a t-shirt, but Cassidy said he does not feel right without them. He even put them back on during the conversation because it felt more natural.

“I feel… I don’t feel correct if I’m not wearing them. It’s like one of those things that I just can’t explain. So, like, I’ll do this. So, now I feel good. Now I feel like this is what I should be doing.”

That pretty much says it all. The sunglasses are not just part of the look. They are part of how Cassidy presents himself. The denim, the shirt, the pockets, the shades — it all works together.

Cassidy has turned one of wrestling’s simplest presentations into one of the most recognizable acts in AEW. He does not need pyro, a giant robe, or a ten-minute monologue. He needs jeans, a t-shirt, the right pair of sunglasses, and the crowd already knows exactly who he is. So, for anyone wondering, Orange Cassidy says the Ray-Bans are real. Case closed.
