Octagón Jr. has now confirmed he underwent surgery following his frightening neck injury at AAA Noche de los Grandes.

Octagón Jr. took to Instagram and uploaded a photo of himself in a hospital bed. He thanked WWE, AAA, fans, friends, wrestlers, staff, his doctors, and his family for supporting him through what he described as a very difficult moment in his life.

“THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 🙏🏻🙌🏻🥹 To @wwe @luchalibreaaa all the fans, friends, fighters and all the staff who have been keeping up with the situation I have been living and who have shown me their support in its entirety in this episode of my life.”

Octagón Jr. gave special thanks to Doctor Orozco and his medical team, saying they watched over him constantly and treated him like family from the very beginning. He also thanked his family and gave emotional credit to his wife, who immediately flew out to be with him after realizing how serious the situation was.

“I want to give a very special thank you to Doctor Orozco who was watching over my day, afternoon, night and his team who from the very beginning treated me as if I were his son. And thank you so much to the family that has been at the foot of the canyon and I feel so blessed to have the love and support of my wife who does not hesitate to take the first flight to be with me seeing that this was very bad.”

Despite everything, Octagón Jr. sounded determined to return stronger than ever and told fans they would see him again soon: “Thank you God for this opportunity, I will come back stronger than ever. 🛑 OCTAGON JR AAA 🛑 WE WILL SEE YOU ALL VERY SOON! ✨🐲”

This comes after Bryan Alvarez reported that Octagón Jr.’s MRI came back good following the scary neck injury. He is still expected to miss several months, but the belief was that the injury could have been much worse.

The injury happened during a Fatal 5-Way match taped for AAA Noche de los Grandes, where Octagón Jr. landed badly after taking a DDT from the highest point of the top rope with Joaquin Wilde. The referee threw up the X sign, and Octagón Jr. was stretchered out with his neck immobilized.

Now fans know the situation was serious enough to require surgery, but Octagón Jr.’s message was full of gratitude and determination. The road back may take time, but he clearly believes this is not the end of his story.
