The July 21 episode of NXT was an interesting one because the brand is building toward multiple shows. Now, we have an NXT Women’s Title match set for the August 4 episode.
Kendal Grey came out as NXT Women’s Champion this week on the show, and then Lola Vice came out to greet her. After all, Lola won a #1 contender match to get another shot at Grey’s title down the line.
It didn’t take long before the two were trading words, and things escalated. Then, Lola Vice made her move to give this match an NXT Underground stipulation.
Lola Vice is going into this match as the challenger, but she has the advantage in a big way. After all, the queen of Vice City has made the NXT Underground match her cup of tea in recent years.
She first made an impact in the stipulation in 2024 when she teamed with Shayna Baszler before eventually defeating Natalya in an NXT Underground Match. She later beat Baszler at NXT Battleground and picked up another Underground victory over Jaida Parker at Deadline 2024, making the fight-style match feel like it was built specifically for her.
Now, Lola Vice will get a chance to recover the NXT Women’s Title in her signature match. Only time will tell how everything pans out, but if Kendal Grey is able to get out of this match with the title, it means that NXT is likely placing a lot of faith in her to carry the division for a bit.
