NWA Powerrr officially has a launch date on its new TV home, as Sinclair Broadcast Group confirmed when the promotion will debut on Comet TV.
Sinclair Inc. announced that Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance will begin airing on Comet starting May 1, marking the return of NWA programming to over-the-air television for the first time in more than three decades. The announcement confirmed that the rollout will begin with a special two-night premiere event designed to introduce the show to viewers across the network.
“Billy Corgan's The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Joins Comet TV on May 1.”
The company also revealed how the debut weekend will be structured, including two back-to-back episodes that will air across Friday and Saturday.
“Kicking off May 1–2, NWA Powerrr launches on Comet with a two-night, one-two punch premiere, Friday in primetime at 10 PM, followed by an all-new episode Saturday at 4 PM, with encore presentations both nights.”
After the initial launch weekend, Sinclair confirmed the long-term weekly schedule for the series, giving fans a clear idea of when to expect new episodes going forward.
“Following premiere weekend, NWA Powerrr will air weekly on Saturdays at 4 PM, with encores at midnight.”
This announcement provides clarity after weeks of speculation about how the transition to Comet would be handled. Ringside News previously reported that the April 25 tapings in Tampa could play a key role in the rollout of the new television deal, especially as production begins lining up content for the new broadcast schedule.
The move represents a major shift for the National Wrestling Alliance, bringing the brand back to traditional broadcast television after years of streaming-focused distribution. Sinclair’s involvement also signals renewed investment in expanding wrestling content across its platforms.
With an official launch date now locked in, attention turns to the upcoming Tampa tapings and how they may help shape the early episodes that will introduce NWA Powerrr to its new television audience.
NWA Powerrr’s return to over-the-air television marks a major milestone for the promotion, especially with its first broadcast television run in more than 30 years now officially on the calendar.
