Nikki Bella isn’t just thinking about retirement anymore—she already has an end date in mind, and she’s making it clear nobody is going to dictate how her final WWE run plays out.
While talking with Brie Bella on the July 27th edition of The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki admitted she can already see the finish line. After returning to WWE earlier this year, she now expects her in-ring career to wrap up around the end of 2027, in December.
“You know, I’m coming close to the end. Like, and I know I’ve talked about this, but I am. Like, and I’m very great with that. Like, you know, year and a half, like whatever it is, the end of 2027.”
Knowing the clock is ticking has completely changed how she looks at wrestling. Instead of worrying about being the “good girl” backstage, Nikki says she’s going to push for the ideas she believes in—even if that means breaking a few rules along the way.
“I really just want to finish this out exactly how I want it. I want, you know, if I got to break rules, I’m going to break rules. But I want to end it how I see it, so I don’t look back and go, ‘What if?'”
She doubled down on that mindset moments later, saying she’s done ignoring her own instincts just to make everyone else happy.
“Creatively, if I feel a certain way, I want to do it. I don’t want to sit there and go, ‘Oh, but follow the rules and be a good girl.’ Like, I want to challenge myself. I want to fight for myself. I want to stick up for what I believe in.”
For Nikki Bella, this last run isn’t just about squeezing in a few more matches before calling it a career. She wants people to remember the work she leaves behind. She also made it clear she doesn’t see success as something you keep to yourself. And ifBella gets to write the ending herself, she only wants one thing when it’s all over.
“I also want to be super impressive. And I want to produce great stuff as far as matches, but also creative. And I want to continue to be a part of great changes for women’s wrestling and constantly making women’s wrestling feel important and special. While I’m doing great things, bringing other people up with me to do great things. That right there is what it’s all about. I don’t just speak the talk of empowering women. I truly love to empower women. Whatever I can give while also being a bad b****, I’m all game… I want it to be fun. Fun. Fun. All fun. Because that’s what life’s about.”
Earlier this year, Nikki revealed that she and Brie Bella signed two-year WWE deals beginning with the 2026 Royal Rumble, saying they saw this comeback as the final chapter of their careers. Now she’s gone one step further by putting a target on that final chapter—and making it clear she’s not interested in playing it safe on the way out.
