Nick Wayne apparently knows exactly who deserves the credit for AEW Dynamite beating WWE NXT in the latest Wednesday night ratings battle. Forget Tony Khan, the rest of the roster or anything else that happened on the show — according to Wayne, this one belongs to him.

Following the release of the November 4 ratings, Wayne took to Twitter and declared himself the winner of the latest head-to-head battle between AEW and WWE.

“NICK WAYNE WON THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR”

It’s pretty much vintage Nick Wayne at this point. Wayne has repeatedly bragged about defeating Chris Jericho twice, and now he’s apparently adding an entire television ratings victory to his personal list of accomplishments.

The actual numbers certainly gave him something to work with. AEW Dynamite drew 792,000 viewers on TBS with a 0.24 rating in the key 18–49 demographic, while WWE NXT brought in 552,000 viewers on The CW with a 0.13 demo rating.

Wayne’s victory lap also came after Tony Khan had some fun of his own with the ratings. Before the real numbers were released, one Twitter account falsely claimed NXT had scored 921,000 viewers while Dynamite managed only 609,000, declaring it a huge victory for WWE. Once the actual ratings came out and showed Dynamite ahead by 240,000 viewers, Khan found the post and responded with a GIF that said: “You’re a pretty good liar.”

Khan may have been happy to correct the record, but Wayne apparently saw the whole thing as another achievement for his résumé. Beating Jericho twice apparently wasn’t enough — now he can brag about personally winning the Wednesday Night War too.
