Kayla Braxton thought she had finally found somebody she genuinely liked in Los Angeles, but that apparently went completely off the rails after one night at a bar. Braxton says she discovered the guy she had been seeing was allegedly feeding another woman the exact same romantic lines — right down to the songs and deep conversations.

Speaking on the latest episode of Milk and Honeys, Braxton explained that she had been seeing the unnamed man for a while. She admitted there was an obvious red flag considering he worked in LA nightlife, but she liked him enough that things were starting to get pretty serious.

“Long story short, I’ve been seeing this guy for a little bit. So hot, first and foremost. Yes, he was. He’s hot, but like, however, he works—and he’s a mix between a lot of people in LA. Either they work maybe in the nightlife scene and they’re acting. That’s a very common thing. He worked in the nightlife. He’s also a straight guy who works at a bar in West Hollywood. That’s typically a red flag.”

This wasn’t just some random hookup either. Braxton said she had genuinely started falling for him, their families knew about each other and he had already met her friends.

“But he is a beautiful man, and he was so nice and so sweet, and we spent a lot of time together. And I really liked—like, I typically don’t—it’s hard for me to like people. And we were getting to, like, a point where he’s talked about me apparently to his mom. I’ve told my mom about him. He’s met my friends.”

Then Braxton visited the place where he worked and noticed another woman sitting further down the bar. Something immediately felt off, and apparently her gut was dead-on.

“And then a few days ago, I was at the establishment that he works at, and I noticed this other girl sitting down the bar from me. I’m like, ‘Hmm, I have this weird feeling in my gut that he might—they might have something going on too.’ But I felt it, and I walked out. I don’t remember. I got a little drunk at that point, and I just know she followed me out.”

The two women eventually started talking and realized they were both dating the same guy. Then they swapped phones and discovered something even crazier — Braxton claims he was basically running the same playbook on both of them.

“We had a conversation, and somehow it came up that we were both dating this guy. And then we swapped phones with each other because, girls, this guy was copy and pasting the same texts to us both, singing us the same songs.”

It wasn’t just a couple of recycled texts either. Braxton said they compared their experiences and found the same conversations and emotional moments popping up in both relationships.

“He was saying the same things to us both, same experiences, same deep conversations, same emotional—like, this whole thing. And so she and I decided, like, collectively to kind of, you know, compare notes. Like, copy and paste. Literally.”

Naturally, she confronted him. Braxton said his first reaction was confusion over exactly who had exposed him, which immediately made her wonder whether she and the other woman were even the only two involved.

“And so I ended up confronting him yesterday. But then he, like, he didn’t know, like, what I was talking about, which made me think there’s more than just two women. He’s like, ‘Tell me who said this.’ The net is cast out wide.”

According to Braxton, the guy then started crying and insisting she was the only woman. Considering he was also an actor, Braxton couldn’t resist wondering whether she was watching a performance.

“And then he, like, started getting emotional and crying. ‘I’m not a bad guy.’ He’s like, ‘Kayla, there’s no other women but you.’ But then he’s also an actor, so it’s like he’s probably method acting. He’s, like, crying. So we had this conversation. I’m pretty coldhearted at this kind of stuff, so I’m like—I said, ‘Okay,’ and I hung up on him, and there’s no reason to have another conversation.”

Somehow, things got even worse about ten minutes later. The other woman called Braxton and claimed the same guy had immediately contacted her acting like everything was completely normal.

“So the girl that he was talking to, that we compared notes, calls me ten minutes later. ‘Oh girl, he just called me too and was like, “Hey babe, how are you doing?”’ Like, this is diabolically crazy. And luckily for her, she cut him off as well. So, as we know for now.”

What really got under Braxton’s skin was that she claims she never even asked this guy for a serious relationship in the first place. She said he started dropping the L-word early and pushing her toward something deeper.

“Okay, I think that’s also—okay, so also that one thing I told of this guy, he’s a love bomber. And so early on, he was, like, telling me he loved me, and I’m like, ‘Don’t say that, ’cause I don’t—you know, don’t do that.’ And I felt it in my heart, but also he’s almost 40 years old, so, oh, he must know a little bit more about what he wants. I mean, I’m almost 40, but, like, 35.”

Braxton said she had actually offered to keep everything physical and casual. According to her, he was the one who kept insisting he wanted more, eventually convincing her to open herself up emotionally.

“But my thing is, I said to him, ‘Hey, I don’t need all that. This can just be physical and fun. Like, don’t push that agenda on me.’ But, like, ‘No, but I want more. I want more.’ You know what? Fine. Then you know what? Maybe I’ll open my heart a little bit for this. And to find out the whole time, him knowing I said I don’t need more than this, let’s just have fun, and he kept pushing it, knowing what he was doing, is diabolical. Is that normal?”

Braxton joked plenty while telling the story, but she admitted there was nothing funny about how she actually felt afterwards. She genuinely liked the guy, which made finding all of this out hurt even more.

“He said, he’s like, ‘Kayla, this is going to happen time and time again. You know, you just got to learn from this.’ But I really—my feelings were hurt because, you know, I really liked this person.”

She also admitted she’s still relatively new to dating in Los Angeles and is finding out the hard way what that can apparently look like.

“So it’s just, like, but, like, that’s the red flag. That’s just the thing that happens around here. And I’m relatively new to LA, and I guess maybe I have not that experience in dating in LA that this is just kind of how it works out here.”

For Braxton, though, the biggest issue ultimately came down to being made to look stupid. She said she can deal with the truth from friends, family or somebody she’s dating — but she doesn’t want someone publicly treating her like she’s special while everyone else knows something she doesn’t.

“And I think that’s one thing I always say to whether you’re my friend, family, lover. Just please don’t make me look stupid. Like, be honest as possible. Don’t make me look stupid.”

That’s exactly how Braxton felt after thinking back to the way the guy had openly treated her at his workplace. She claims he would pick her up, kiss her and make her feel like she was the only woman in the room — while people working there had apparently seen him behaving similarly with others.

“And there’s nothing more that he could have done as far as making me look stupid than letting me walk into his establishment and let him pick me up, spinning around, and kiss me like I was the only girl in the world, and find out that he’s doing the same thing with eight other women, and all of his coworkers and security have seen it all.”

Braxton didn’t identify the man, and the allegations here are entirely her account of what happened. But considering she originally told him she was perfectly happy keeping things casual, the part that seems to bother her most is that she says he pushed for something deeper — only for her to discover another woman was apparently getting the exact same treatment.
