Nic Nemeth Calls Goldberg an Idiot Who Only Cared About Looking Strong

Nic Nemeth got asked about his favorite opponent, and somehow, Goldberg still ended up taking the biggest hit.

The former Dolph Ziggler jumped on Twitter and made it clear he is not exactly holding warm memories of their SummerSlam 2019 match. When the question came up, Nemeth didn’t give a diplomatic answer or try to play nice.

“Anyone but goldblerg”

That alone told fans plenty, but then someone tried to call him out. A fan compared Nemeth trashing Goldberg to Gina Carano taking shots at one of her own movies and calling Steven Soderbergh a hack. Nemeth saw that and basically said the comparison made no sense. His issue was never that Goldberg was not a draw. His issue was Goldberg himself.

“It’s not like that at all. Never said or pretended that Goldberg wasn’t a draw. That is made up, by you, for your poor analogy. My least favorite match was easily that idiot (who was not interested in anything other than himself and how strong he looked, big surprise right?)”

So there it is. Nic Nemeth isn’t questioning Goldberg’s name value. He is saying that match was his least favorite because, in his view, Goldberg only cared about looking strong.

That grudge goes all the way back to SummerSlam 2019, and Nemeth has already explained why it still bothers him. During his appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, he said WWE originally wanted the whole thing to be over almost as soon as the bell rang.

“I was told no, ding, ding, ding, spear, jackhammer. I said, ‘Vince, why am I in this match when anybody could take a spear and a jackhammer? If I can’t be in this match doing something, then I have to leave this company right now. If this is purely for a scarecrow to take a spear and a jackhammer, I don’t want to work here.’

I’m fighting. I’m like, it should be something. I should kick him. I should hit him with my finish. I should do something. There should be something other than a bell, because then there’s no little ride.”

That is why this still sounds personal years later. Nemeth wasn’t just unhappy with losing. He felt like he was thrown into a match he didn’t want, had to argue for any kind of offense, and then did not get the WWE exit he believed was already lined up.

Goldberg got the dominant SummerSlam moment WWE wanted, but Nemeth clearly hated just about everything around it. Years later, one simple Twitter question was enough for him to make sure everyone knew Goldberg is still dead last on his list.

Do you think Nic Nemeth is right to still call out Goldberg over their SummerSlam 2019 match? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
