Avery Styles is getting some backup from a promotion that actually worked with him — and their experience sounds a whole lot different from the picture being painted online.

NGW: Tennessee jumped into the growing “pay your dues” controversy surrounding AJ Styles’ son and made it clear Avery wasn’t some entitled kid refusing to help when he worked for them. According to the promotion, Avery was respectful, professional and even asked if they needed help with the ring. NGW didn’t stop there either. After giving their firsthand account of working with Avery, they made it clear they came away impressed with him.

“Since its the topic of the day, Avery was nothing but polite, humble, and professional during our time with him. Asked if we needed help with anything, mentioned setting up the ring specially.”

“Just throwing out our experience. Kids gonna go far.”

That’s a pretty important piece of this whole mess considering the controversy started over Avery being criticized for not helping tear down the ring after a GCW show in Minneapolis. AJ Styles defended his son, Moose and A.J. Francis pushed back against the old-school “pay your dues” mentality, and former WWE LFG star BJ Ray went even harder by calling the entire mindset childish.

Now there’s an actual promotion saying Avery not only behaved professionally when he worked for them, but specifically offered to help with ring setup. That doesn’t end the argument over what happened at GCW, but it definitely adds another side to the story. Avery’s getting blasted over one experience while another promotion is publicly saying he was humble, helpful and willing to pitch in.

Does NGW Tennessee’s experience with Avery Styles change how you look at the “pay your dues” controversy, or do you think the GCW situation still stands on its own? Let us know what you think in the comments.
