WWE has loaded up the July 24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown with several new matches and segments following the chaos at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are both set to appear after tensions flared between them over the weekend. The two teamed together at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but things got awkward after the match when Punk threw his championship over his shoulder and the title strap caught Rhodes in the face.
With Punk and Rhodes heading toward their SummerSlam title match, WWE will now give both men the chance to address what happened and where things stand between them.
Gunther has also been added to the show and will speak about his upcoming SummerSlam match against Nick Aldis. The match will mark Aldis’ WWE in-ring debut, giving Gunther plenty to say before they collide.
WWE also announced a second Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match qualifier. Chelsea Green will face Kiana James, with the winner securing a spot in the SummerSlam ladder match. That bout joins the previously announced qualifier between Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax. Both women are looking to force their way into the championship picture with a major win.

WWE has now given fans several major reasons to tune in, especially with Punk and Rhodes expected to address their tense moment before SummerSlam.
