More details are coming out after wrestling podcaster Famous Davis said Andy Williams — better known to wrestling fans as The Butcher — died following his collapse at an Enjoy Wrestling show Saturday night.
Davis, who previously told Ringside News that he had verified the information through his source, returned to X with another update. This time, he said Williams’ next of kin had already been notified before he publicly shared the news and that an autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death.
“The ME will perform an autopsy after the Labor Day Holiday to determine a cause of death and yes NEXT OF KIN had been notified before I posted the news of Andy Williams passing. RIP Butcher 🕊️”
That adds another to the heartbreaking situation after Williams collapsed at the end of his match during Enjoy Wrestling’s Five Years event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania.
Enjoy Wrestling previously confirmed that doctors on site immediately began treating Williams and administered CPR until an ambulance arrived. The promotion then shut down the rest of the show, sent everyone home and went to the hospital while waiting for more information.
Davis later said Williams had passed away at Allegheny General Hospital. Ringside News contacted Davis directly after his initial post, and he verified to us that he stood behind the information he had received. His latest update now says the medical examiner will perform an autopsy after the Labor Day holiday to determine what caused Williams’ death, while also making clear that family members had been notified before he broke the news publicly.
As of this writing, Enjoy Wrestling and Williams’ family have not publicly issued their own confirmation of his death. Davis remains the source of the information, though he has directly verified his sourcing.
Williams was best known in wrestling as The Butcher, one half of The Butcher and The Blade, while also building a major career in music as the guitarist for Every Time I Die. The wrestling world is now waiting for more answers about exactly what happened Saturday night, with an autopsy expected to provide more clarity on Williams’ cause of death.
