Netflix went back and heavily reworked Raquel Rodriguez’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship match against Sol Ruca after Rodriguez suffered a busted nose during the July 27 episode of WWE Raw.
The live broadcast showed blood running from Rodriguez’s nose as the match continued, along with referee Jessika Carr wiping her face. Those moments are now gone from the Netflix replay, which uses different camera angles to hide as much of the blood as possible.
Instead of blurring the footage, WWE swapped in wide shots, crowd reactions and close-ups of Ruca whenever Rodriguez’s face became too visible. The changes are easy to spot and make parts of the match look chopped up, with the editing drawing even more attention to what Netflix was trying to hide.
The title match still ends the same way. Liv Morgan and IYO SKY fought around ringside, Roxanne Perez stopped Ruca from hitting the Sol Snatcher, and Rodriguez hit her finisher to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. It marked Rodriguez’s first singles title on WWE Raw.
The live version made the injury part of the match. The replay tries to erase it, and the final result looks awkward enough that viewers may notice the edits before they notice anything else.
