WWE could be getting ready to move several NXT stars to the main roster, and a new update suggests the timing may not be random.
According to Bodyslam.net, multiple NXT names are being discussed internally for call-ups as WWE prepares to roll out a special two-week television event called NXT Revenge. The show is expected to feature major matches and segments that could close out several ongoing feuds. The update made it clear that several specific names are being talked about behind the scenes right now.
"Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Jacy Jayne, Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, and Sol Ruca have all been heavily discussed for main roster call ups recently."
The first week of NXT Revenge is set to include Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne, a Joe Hendry concert segment, and Tony D’Angelo vs. Ethan Page. The following week is scheduled to feature Sol Ruca facing Zaria in a Last Woman Standing Match — another match that could mark a turning point for talent tied to the rumored call-ups.
Sources also suggested that the event itself is meant to bring closure to multiple storylines currently playing out on NXT television.
"NXT Revenge is expected to be the ending to multiple stories."
WWE has a long history of shifting talent after major events or storyline conclusions, especially around WrestleMania season. With several of these names now featured in major matches during NXT Revenge, the timing has many watching closely to see who might be next to move up.
If these plans move forward, the fallout from NXT Revenge could end up changing both NXT and WWE’s main roster in the weeks ahead.
