MLW’s long wait is finally over. Five years after a streaming deal fell apart at the last minute, MLW Fusion is officially headed to Tubi.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Major League Wrestling has reached a deal with the free streaming platform that will see MLW Fusion air live every Thursday night beginning September 17 at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes will stream free on Tubi, giving the promotion access to the platform’s reported 110 million monthly active users.
What’s especially notable is that this is the same deal MLW believed it had secured back in 2021 before it unexpectedly collapsed. The Hollywood Reporter states that WWE allegedly pressured Tubi to back away from the agreement because of WWE’s relationship with Fox, which owned Tubi and aired SmackDown at the time. That dispute eventually led to MLW filing an antitrust lawsuit against WWE. The two sides later reached a settlement, with WWE paying MLW $20 million to resolve the case outside of court.
A lot has changed for MLW since then. The company has added actor Paul Walter Hauser as an executive producer alongside Court Bauer and Bryan Walsh, signed with Artists First for representation, partnered with Danny McBride’s Don Gato Tequila and relocated its headquarters from New York to Charleston, South Carolina.
The promotion has also continued expanding its distribution. MLW Fusion was relaunched earlier this year, while the company’s pay-per-view events are now carried by Live Nation’s Veeps. Episodes of Fusion will also remain available on Veeps and NJPW World alongside the new Tubi partnership. MLW founder and CEO Court Bauer called the agreement a perfect fit for the promotion’s philosophy of making wrestling easy to access.
“Wrestling should be easy to find and free to watch. We built MLW around that, no paywalls, no subscription barriers, nothing standing between a fan and the show, and Tubi shares that same fan-first philosophy at scale. Starting Sept. 17, Tubi’s 110 million monthly active users have a front row seat on Thursday nights to the hardest hitting hour in pro wrestling, and it won’t cost a dime.”
For MLW, the deal represents more than just a new streaming home. It’s the completion of an agreement that slipped away five years ago—and this time, Fusion is finally making its way to Tubi.
