The Miz may not have a WrestleMania 42 match announced yet, but he isn’t ruling anything out — and longtime WWE fans know that usually means something could still be coming.
While speaking during a conversation on Throwbacks with Matt Leinart & Jerry Ferrara, The Miz discussed his busy WrestleMania weekend schedule and addressed the fact that he currently isn’t booked for a match at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Still, he made it clear that being left off the card — at least on paper — doesn’t mean he won’t end up competing.
During the discussion, Miz reflected on a past WrestleMania situation where he wasn’t scheduled to wrestle but ended up working matches anyway, showing how quickly plans can shift around WWE’s biggest show of the year.
“Right now, I don't have a match at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, April 18th to the 19th… but I didn't have a match when I hosted SoFi Stadium… and then I had two matches both nights, got people elbowed by Snoop Dogg. So I mean you never know what is going to happen in WWE and at WrestleMania. So even though I don't have a match right now, I'm always prepared, always ready and ready to go.”
That kind of mindset has helped Miz stay relevant through multiple eras of WWE. Even when he’s not officially announced for a match, he stays in ring-ready condition, knowing that WrestleMania often delivers unexpected moments and last-minute additions.
Despite not having a match locked in, Miz is still set to play a major role throughout WrestleMania week. Between hosting duties and other appearances tied to the event, he will be active across several major moments — and if WWE decides to pivot creatively, he’s clearly ready to step in.
WrestleMania has built its reputation on surprise moments, and Miz’s comments suggest he understands exactly how unpredictable the show can be. Even without his name listed on the card, the possibility of a sudden appearance or match still feels very real.
Do you think The Miz will end up wrestling at WrestleMania 42 even without an announced match, or will he stay focused on hosting duties this year? Drop your thoughts in the comments and share your prediction.
