Mick Foley may no longer have a current WWE relationship, but he’s not trying to erase his history there.

While speaking with Going Ringside, Foley addressed the idea that he was upset about WWE still showing his old matches. Foley shut that down fast and said he wanted to set the record straight.

“Oh, no. Yeah. Yeah. I did want to set the record straight when somebody said I was upset they were showing my matches.”

Foley then made it clear that WWE has every right to use the footage, and he actually wants fans to keep seeing it.

“So, my point was, first of all, they have every right to show my matches. Second, I want people to see those matches. That’s part of my history.”

That’s a pretty important distinction. Foley may have walked away from WWE business-wise, but he isn’t pretending that Mankind, Dude Love, Cactus Jack, Hell in a Cell, and everything else just didn’t happen. Foley also said he remains proud of most of what he did in WWE, even if not every part of it aged perfectly in his own eyes.

“Just because we don’t, you know, have a relationship in the near future doesn’t mean I’m not proud of everything I did because, well, some of the Dude Love stuff I wasn’t proud. But for the most part, I love doing what I did and I’m glad that younger generations have a chance to discover it.”

Foley’s stance is pretty clear. He may be done with WWE for now, but he still wants fans to enjoy the matches that made him a legend. That history is not going anywhere, and Foley doesn’t seem interested in pretending otherwise.
