Mick Foley spent the days before the midterms practically begging Americans to vote Democrat, so you can probably guess how he felt when the results started coming in. The WWE Hall of Famer has now reacted to the Democratic victories, but instead of taking a big victory lap, Foley went with a surprisingly simple message about Americans coming together.
Following the November 3 midterm results, Mick Foley took to his Instagram Story and made it pretty clear he was happy with how the night turned out.
“Very happy with tonight’s results. We have so much more in common that unites us than divides us.”
The reaction came after a huge night for Democrats, who won control of both the House and Senate in the 2026 midterms. Republicans entered Election Day controlling both chambers, but Democrats flipped enough seats across the country to take Congress.
Just days earlier, Foley had gone considerably harder. During an October 30 video on his YouTube channel, he identified himself as an independent voter but straight-up asked Americans to vote Democrat because he believed Congress needed to provide a stronger check on Trump.
“So, I’m asking you to think. If you have a strong feeling about trans issues, some mythical boy who becomes a girl is dominating your child in youth athletics, then you can vote those people out in two years. But the time is now, and destiny is looking you in the eye. This man is making a decided march towards autocracy, and Congress has lacked the balls to stop him. So, I’m asking you to consider voting Democrat so we can have some form of decency and sanity. I’m Mick Foley, and I approve this message.”
That video was anything but subtle. Foley went after Trump, blasted members of Congress for what he viewed as their unwillingness to challenge the president, criticized Elon Musk over USAID and argued that voters needed to change the balance of power in Washington. Those were Foley’s political arguments in the video, and he clearly wanted people to know exactly where he stood before they went to the polls.
Now that the election is over, though, Foley isn’t using the result to start another fight. After spending days making a pretty fiery case for the outcome he wanted, his first reaction was basically the opposite — he’s happy with the results, and now he wants people to remember they’ve got more in common than they might think.
