Matt Cardona wasn’t thrilled when WWE Radio rolled out its programming and somehow left his name off the announcement. He still had his weekly gig, but Cardona admits seeing himself completely missing from the press release left him “a little hot.”

Cardona appears every Tuesday during the second hour of NotSam Wrestling Live for the “Broski Breakdown” with Sam Roberts. But when WWE Radio officially announced its lineup, NotSam Wrestling Live made the cut while Cardona and his weekly segment didn’t: He definitely noticed.

During his appearance on Busted Open Radio, Dave LaGreca brought up the snub while introducing Cardona. Cardona joked that seeing the press release without his name briefly made him wonder whether he’d been fired.

“Oh man, thank you so much. And yeah, when that press release came out, I thought I got fired. I wasn’t included.”

Dave then pointed out how strange it was to leave Cardona out considering he currently wrestles for WWE.

“Assumed like, ‘Oh yeah, we have somebody who wrestles in the WWE. Maybe you wanna put ’em in the press release?’”

Matt Cardona kept the firing joke going by saying he even checked whether the money was still coming in.

“I had to check my Bank of America. Made sure those checks still coming in.”

But when LaGreca asked whether the omission had actually bothered him, Matt Cardona admitted it had, since he got got.

“Oh no, I was—I was a little hot. I was hot first. I was scared that I got hot.”

Cardona never actually lost his WWE Radio spot. The firing and Bank of America lines were jokes, but being left off the announcement clearly got under his skin. WWE Radio announced the show Cardona appears on every week without mentioning him, and Cardona made it pretty clear he wasn’t exactly happy about being forgotten.

Do you think Matt Cardona had a reason to be “hot” about WWE Radio leaving him out of the announcement? Let us know in the comments.
