WWE has added a major match and several key segments to the August 7 episode of SmackDown, with Kevin Owens, CM Punk and Chelsea Green all set for the show.
Owens will make his first SmackDown appearance since returning to the ring at SummerSlam. He won a fatal four-way match at the premium live event to become the number one contender for CM Punk’s Undisputed WWE Championship.
Punk is also scheduled to appear, putting the champion and his next challenger in the same building. WWE has not confirmed whether Owens and Punk will meet face-to-face, but their title program is expected to move forward during the show.
WWE also announced that Jade Cargill will go one-on-one with Charlotte Flair. Both women are looking to strengthen their positions in the SmackDown women’s division.
Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green will also appear following her championship victory at SummerSlam. WWE has not revealed what Green will be doing on the show, but her appearance comes as several women on the roster begin targeting her title.
