Marty Jannetty’s devastating health battle has now been officially confirmed by his family after weeks of speculation and disturbing photos circulating online.

After former wrestler Eddy Mansfield publicly revealed that Jannetty had undergone an amputation following years of ankle complications and sepsis-related issues, Marty’s wife Addie released an official statement addressing the situation directly and confirming the surgery was real.

The statement, posted to Facebook, explained that the family originally wanted to keep Jannetty’s medical condition private but felt forced to speak publicly because of growing speculation online.

“Over the past year, we have chosen to keep Marty’s health matters private, and we stand firmly by that decision. Marty recently underwent a below-the-knee amputation.”

Addie also addressed the viral image being shared online, making it clear the photo was authentic and not fake or AI-generated.

“The photograph currently being shared online is authentic. It is not AI-generated, altered, or manipulated in any way.”

According to the statement, the surgery took place on April 1, 2026, and doctors were able to fully remove the infected bone connected to Jannetty’s long battle with sepsis.

“The procedure was performed on April 1, 2026, by Dr. Leland McCluskey, who successfully removed all infected bone.”

She added that the surgery itself went according to plan and that Jannetty is now fully focused on recovery and rehabilitation.

“The surgery went as expected, and Marty is now focusing on recovery, pain management, and long-term healing. We respectfully request privacy during this time as Marty continues his rehabilitation.”

The emotional update came shortly after Mansfield discussed Jannetty’s condition during an appearance on Monte and the Pharaoh, where he revealed the amputation publicly while calling Jannetty one of his closest friends.

“One of my dearest friends ever on the face of this earth, and a great wrestler, had his foot amputated, and his name is Marty Jannetty.”

Following the official statement, Addie also shared a petition urging WWE to induct Jannetty into the WWE Hall of Fame, either individually or as part of The Rockers alongside Shawn Michaels. In the petition, she praised her husband’s lifelong dedication to wrestling despite the physical damage it caused him over the years.

“My husband, Marty Jannetty, has dedicated his entire life to his wrestling career. Over the years, he has put his body on the line time and time again for the entertainment of fans worldwide.”

She also argued that her husband’s impact on wrestling deserves formal recognition from WWE.

“It’s time for the WWE to recognize his immense contribution by inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame.”

Bottom line: Marty Jannetty’s family has now officially confirmed that the wrestling legend underwent a below-the-knee amputation after years of painful complications tied to sepsis and ankle damage, while his wife is now publicly pushing for WWE to honor his legacy with a Hall of Fame induction.
