The conversation around Worlds Collide going head-to-head with AEW’s PAC tribute show isn’t dying down anytime soon. A new backstage update suggests the decision didn’t sit well with a lot of people inside WWE.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said he’d heard there was plenty of frustration within the company over airing Worlds Collide opposite AEW’s special Dynamite honoring the late PAC.

“I know a lot of people were unhappy that they ran it when they did. They could have moved it. They didn’t move it.”

Meltzer also questioned why WWE stuck with the original schedule, saying he didn’t believe there was much preventing the company from making a change.

“They probably should have moved it. There’s no good reason not to, but they didn’t.”

Those comments back up what Bryan Alvarez reported earlier this week, when he said he’d heard from multiple WWE sources that many employees weren’t on board with running Worlds Collide against AEW’s tribute show. According to those reports, the decision came from a small group of people rather than reflecting how most within the company felt.

In the end, WWE never changed course. Worlds Collide premiered on YouTube as scheduled, directly overlapping with the first hour of AEW’s tribute to Benjamin Satterley, better known to wrestling fans as PAC.

The scheduling decision is now behind everyone, but it’s clearly still a talking point. Between multiple backstage reports and the public reaction online, it doesn’t sound like this is a debate that’s ending just because both shows have already aired.

Do you think WWE should have shifted the Worlds Collide premiere, or was keeping the original schedule the right move? Let us know in the comments below.
