WWE fans who wanted Mandy Rose to ride to Otis’ rescue almost got their fantasy booking endorsed by Mandy herself. There was just one tiny scheduling problem — she was busy having a baby.
During TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Rose was asked whether she keeps tabs on WWE these days. She said she doesn’t watch every show but follows enough through social media to know what her former coworkers are doing. That led to the recent storyline involving Maxxine Dupri, Austin Theory and Otis. Rose revealed that fans immediately started blowing up her mentions with the same idea: bring Mandy back to save Otis.
“I mean like I know and that’s why I wanted this. I mean they they they push it far. They And I was getting I was getting a lot of tweets and a lot of people being like, ‘Oh my god, Mandy Rose is going to come back and, you know, save Otis.’”
Unfortunately for anybody hoping for a surprise WWE return, Rose was dealing with something slightly more important at the time. Rose even thought about how funny it would have been to respond to all the fans demanding she come back.
“And I was laughing cuz I think I was like literally delivering my baby like that week.”
“And I was like in the hospital like, ‘Oh man, I wish I I should just post a photo and be like, I really wish I could, but I’m actually in active labor right now. Sorry, guys.’”
Then came the big question: if Rose hadn’t been giving birth, would she actually have wanted to do it? Her answer was yes. Rose also had nothing but good things to say about Otis and their time working together during one of WWE’s more memorable odd-couple storylines. She capped it off by reminding everyone who came first.
“Sure. I think the crowd would have erupted and I think that would have been a really really cool moment 100%.”
“He’s he’s hilarious. Like he’s just I mean everything about him is just hilarious. He’s always he’s always in good spirits. He’s such a positive person and he’s he’s a lot of fun and we had we had such a ball like filming.”
“We were definitely the OG. You guys can’t deny that, right?”
Mandy Rose obviously had a much bigger moment happening in her real life, but she clearly hasn’t forgotten the chemistry she had with Otis. If WWE ever decides to revisit that story when Rose isn’t in a delivery room, it sounds like she might actually enjoy answering the call.
