Mandy Rose may look like she bounced right back after becoming a mother, but what fans saw on social media wasn’t the whole story.

Rose welcomed her son seven weeks before her appearance on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, and she opened up about what was going through her head when she first saw her postpartum body after returning home from the hospital. The former NXT Women’s Champion explained that her current physique isn’t something that happened overnight. Rose has spent years training, building muscle and making nutrition and fitness part of her everyday life.

“I appreciate that uh really nice compliment. Um, and I do think it’s really important because people have been seeing I’ve been posting my um, progress from, you know, postpartum and just being like seven weeks postpartum and um, you know, it’s crazy because I I’m blessed, but I also want to make something really clear and I’ve seen it firsthand is that like, you know, what you see is just years and years of consistent working.”

Rose said her foundation from years in the gym made returning toward her previous physique easier, but that didn’t stop her from having a difficult reaction immediately after childbirth. Then came the shock of seeing how much her body had changed.

“And don’t get me wrong, when I got home from the hospital after my whole birth experience, um, it was wild. You know, I looked in the mirror and I I had a little bit of like a panic attack. Of course, it’s I have this beautiful child and super healthy and that’s all you ever all you ever want, right?”

“But then you look at your body and you’re like, whoa, like what what happened, you know? And it’s it’s and then your hormones are dropping and it’s just like a whole crazy situation.”

Rose said things started changing again within a couple of weeks — and this happened before she even returned to the gym. She also credited staying active during pregnancy and all the work she put in before becoming pregnant.

“But, um, I want to say like a couple weeks later, my body started, you know, getting back just to its just getting the baby weight off, but also not even stepping a foot in the gym yet. And I think it just goes to show like how um you know, it’s part genetics, too. I’m not going to lie.”

“But it’s also how much hard work I put in prior to this pregnancy. And I stayed really active during my pregnancy. So, I think that plays a huge role as well.”

Rose is now figuring out what fitness looks like with what she called her “new body,” while embracing everything that came with becoming a mother. The photos may show the transformation, but Rose made sure fans knew there was a much more emotional reality behind them.
