Logan Paul is doing everything he can to get back in the ring, but he’s making it clear that his torn triceps is still a serious problem. The WWE star is continuing treatment on the injury and gave fans a close-up look at the latest step in his recovery.
Paul tore his triceps back in May while teaming with Austin Theory to defend the WWE World Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits. He has remained out of action since then, but during his latest YouTube vlog, Logan revealed that he is now undergoing platelet-rich plasma therapy as he works toward a return.
Logan stressed that fans may be overlooking just how severe the injury actually was. He said the triceps was torn completely off the bone and admitted he is still far from 100 percent, even though he feels the recovery is moving quickly because of how seriously he has approached rehab.
“I think people have forgotten that I tore my tricep off the bone. Still very much injured, but I’m healing very fast though. It’s because I’m religious about recovery. And I’m doing something today called PRP.”
Paul then showed the PRP process on camera as blood was drawn before being prepared for the injections. He tried to explain how he understood the treatment to work, saying the blood would be spun before part of it was injected back into the damaged triceps.
“So, that’s what they’re going to do. They take my blood and they put it in a centrifuge, I think it’s called, and they spin it around. And then something happens there. I don’t know what, but I think it has to do with the cells. I think it’s the white blood cells that get separated, which are the healing cells. Then they take those and they’ll put it back in my tricep.”
The vlog also gave fans a look at the surgical repair itself. Medical staff showed Paul imaging of the injured arm and pointed out the bone, triceps fibers and the material used to reconnect the muscle. Logan then went through with the treatment as the injections were placed around the repaired area.
“There’s that bone, right? And your tricep fibers are all these fibers here. And then these are all surgical products. This is how they sewed the tricep back together.”
“PRP. I’m about to get needles in my arm.”
Paul clearly wants to get back into the ring as soon as his body allows it, but he isn’t pretending the injury is already behind him. Calling himself “still very much injured” makes it clear there is still work to be done, even if he believes his recovery is moving in the right direction.
