Lizzy Rain saw her first taste of NXT’s bright lights this week. She has already received some buzz, thanks to the fact that she is coming in with some fans already, but the larger WWE fan base didn’t have a chance to see what she can do before tonight.
The April 28 episode of NXT was a big show, as the brand started to reshuffle their deck after a bunch of main roster call-ups and a handful of releases. That included a debut that fans were looking forward to.
Lizzy Rain made her debut in a vignette last week, but her in-ring premiere came this week on NXT. This week on NXT, fans got thier first taste of Lizzy Rain’s in your face attitude, and she was a real throwback.
After doing her own hype before her entrance, Lizzy Rain came out to a rocking hair metal track. She faced Nikkita Lyons in her debut match, who is always a tough challenger. The Lyoness wasn’t about to be a stepping stone for Lizzy Rain, or anyone.
Lizzy Rain’s heavy metal vibe carried on into her match, and Nikkita Lyons wasn’t feeling it at all. She tried her best to pummel Lizzy in her debut match, but Rain certainly showed resiliency.
After taking a bunch of offense from Nikkita Lyons, Lizzy Rain fired back with a bunch of quick moves, including a cutter, and then she laid in some attitude-filled chops in the corner. This match continued with Nikkita getting the upper hand, but Rain was able to turn things around and then she nailed Thunderstruck, her finisher, for the win.
Prior to signing with WWE, Lizzy Rain was known as Rayne Leverkusen. She made her mark in companies like Progress, and now she is in NXT. With this first match under her belt, it’s anyone’s guess how far she will go in the company.
