Liv Morgan isn’t celebrating 100 days as Women’s World Champion anymore. She’s already looking way beyond that milestone.
Speaking to ESPN ahead of her Women’s World Championship defense against IYO SKY at SummerSlam, Morgan made it clear that she has no interest in simply surviving another title match. In her mind, this reign is only getting started, and if everything goes according to plan, the number attached to her championship won’t stop at 100 days—it’ll eventually reach four digits.
Morgan also has another streak she wants to protect. She’s undefeated at SummerSlam with a 2-0 record, and she has no intention of letting IYO SKY become the first woman to spoil that perfect run on one of WWE’s biggest stages.
“I’d love to keep my streak going. Like you said, I am 2-0 at SummerSlam. I have a great track record, so I’d love to keep that going. But most importantly, I want to retain my Women’s World Championship.”
Keeping that streak alive is only part of the plan. Morgan then revealed the much bigger goal she’s chasing, making it clear that she’s not thinking in terms of months anymore. She’s thinking in terms of years, with every successful title defense bringing her one step closer to what would become one of the most dominant championship reigns in WWE history.
“I am over 100 days as champion, and I want to make it a thousand days as champion. So, retaining this weekend and defeating Iyo Sky, one of the best in the world, reminding everyone just exactly who I am in that ring. I’m very much looking forward to that opportunity.”
The timing couldn’t be better. Only days ago, Morgan found herself at the center of a social media storm after celebrating 100 days as champion despite not defending the title during that stretch. Instead of backing down, she leaned into the criticism, joking that she was so “iconic” she didn’t even need to defend the championship. Now, she’ll finally have the chance to answer those complaints in the ring when she puts the title on the line against IYO SKY at SummerSlam.
A successful defense would silence plenty of critics and keep Morgan’s championship dreams alive. If she’s serious about reaching 1,000 days, it all starts by leaving SummerSlam with the Women’s World Championship still around her waist.
