Liv Morgan thought she was making a smart move when she bought a Tesla Cybertruck—but now she’s calling it her worst investment.
Morgan picked up the Tesla Cybertruck back in 2024, but during an appearance on the You Wish podcast, she admitted the reality hasn’t matched the idea she had in mind at the time. Morgan didn’t hold back when asked about her biggest financial regret. She then explained what pushed her to buy it in the first place, pointing to a moment when fuel shortages made her rethink how she prepared for emergencies.
“The worst investment I ever made—and the biggest waste of money? My Cybertruck. I just don’t drive it. I think I got it when—well, I liked the idea that it was environmentally friendly, but I think, like in Florida, we were running out of gas. We had a crazy hurricane, and there was no gas at the gas stations.”
That situation pushed her into a mindset where she was preparing for worst-case scenarios, which ultimately led to the purchase. Morgan said the Cybertruck felt like a logical move in that moment—but the reality didn’t match the idea once things settled down. She also pointed to one specific issue that turned her off from using it regularly—charging.
“So at that time in my life, I was a low-key doomsday prepper—getting rations, water, and hiding it in my barn. So I was like, ‘Oh wow, there’s no gas—so let me get this Cybertruck.’ But I never drive it. It’s a super cool car, but I never use it. I hate charging it, and I just love my 2015 bright yellow Jeep Rubicon—I love it so much.”
Instead of becoming her go-to vehicle, the Cybertruck has ended up sitting unused, while her older Jeep continues to be her favorite ride. For Morgan, what started as a practical, forward-thinking purchase turned into something she barely touches.
Would you still buy an electric vehicle after hearing this, or do you think Liv Morgan just didn’t give it a fair shot? Let us know your thoughts.
