Cody Rhodes fired the first shot in the Street Fighter versus Mortal Kombat war, and Ludi Lin just answered him. After Rhodes claimed the Street Fighter cast would “dog walk” the Mortal Kombat crew, the Liu Kang actor told him to stop talking and prove it when the movie hits the screen.
Rhodes will play Guile in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, while Roman Reigns has been cast as Akuma. The movie is set to arrive after Mortal Kombat 2, which features Lin returning as Liu Kang. The casts have been trading shots, but Rhodes took things to another level when he claimed Street Fighter would walk all over Mortal Kombat.
Speaking with Monopoly Events, Lin said he is not interested in dog-walking anybody. He said the Mortal Kombat cast is made up of martial artists and actors, and now it is up to Street Fighter to show what it can do.
“Well, gosh, man. Look, I’m not a dog walker. We’re not dog walkers. We’re martial artists, and first and foremost, we’re actors.”
Lin said he was blown away by the response to Mortal Kombat 2 and challenged Rhodes and the rest of the Street Fighter cast to back up their words.
“I am so overwhelmed by how the fans received the second movie. Now it just remains to be seen what Street Fighter can do.”
“I’m excited to see their movie and see what they can prove. Take your words onto the screen, and we’ll find out.”
The conversation then turned to whether the rivalry could spill into WWE. Lin did not shut the idea down and suggested a crossover would settle the issue for real.
“Maybe we could do a crossover, and then we’ll find out for real.”
Rhodes and Reigns already give Street Fighter plenty of WWE muscle, but Lin clearly is not intimidated. He wants the movie to do the talking, although a WWE showdown could make this fight a lot more interesting.
