Layla was apparently done watching fans explain her own WWE history to her. After a debate broke out over why she never returned to the company, the former Women’s Champion jumped in herself and told one fan they simply didn’t have the facts right.
It started with a fan arguing that WWE hasn’t given Layla the recognition she deserves since she left the company: “Layla was far too talented for wwe to erase her existence” Another fan didn’t blame WWE at all. They claimed the company had tried to bring Layla back multiple times, only for her to keep saying no until interest disappeared.
“her fault not theirs tbh😭😭they asked her to return multiple times .they did and she waited till nobody gaf!”
Someone else backed up that side of the argument, claiming Layla had made it clear herself that she was happy being away from wrestling.
“She literally kept saying no. Idk why they keep making up fantasy narratives ? She said she was getting old and she was happy to leave lmao”
The argument kept going, with another claim that Vince McMahon had wanted Layla back after she left WWE in 2015 and that she could have remained with the company through 2019.
“like she said herself vince asked her to return and she left in 2015 after signing a brand new contract… she was gonna be in wwe till 2019 if vince had a say😭”
That was when Layla entered the conversation. She immediately said the story wasn’t true and wasn’t what she had previously said. Layla confirmed that she had signed a new contract before leaving WWE in 2015, while also pointing out that she was pregnant in 2021.
“No that’s not true and not what I said !!! I left in 2015 after I had signed a new contract and in 2021 I was pregnant! Please don’t be so bold when you actually don’t know the facts! I do believe some fans would love to see Me back …… definitely for a LayCool Reunion am I wrong ???? 💋”
Layla didn’t stop at correcting the fan either. After shutting down the idea that she had simply spent years rejecting WWE comeback attempts, she left the door open to something fans have wanted for a long time: LayCool.
A reunion with Michelle McCool clearly isn’t something Layla thinks people have stopped caring about. She may have stepped into the conversation to kill one comeback story, but she walked out of it giving fans another reason to wonder whether LayCool could eventually show up together again.
