Layla El may be living a much quieter life these days, but she knows exactly what WWE did for her career and her future.
While speaking with Denise Salcedo in Hollywood, the former WWE Divas Champion was asked how her WWE career set her up for the rest of her life. Layla didn’t dodge that one at all. She made it clear WWE gave her something that still follows her today: a name, a fanbase, and a legacy.
“Well, you know, thank you for saying that. Like WWE really did set me up for the remainder of my life. I mean, I get to go worldwide and be known, you know what I mean? And I have so many opportunities that are open to me, and I get to do things that I guess, you know, if I wouldn’t have been in WWE, I would never been able to do.”
Layla also said WWE gave her a legacy she is still proud of. She made it clear her time in the company still matters, even though she is not around wrestling the way she once was.
“And it’s just WWE gave me a legacy that I think a lot of people followed, and I’m proud of.”
The former LayCool member also teased that fans have not seen the last of her. Layla said she has plans connected to England and told fans to keep an eye on her social media for what comes next.
“And there’s going to be a lot of things I’m going to be doing. Like I’m going to go back to England, so I’m going to do a lot of stuff there. So, without WWE, I would not have been able to get that, and I’m just going to say you guys are going to have to wait and see. Just follow my social media, and you’ll get to see what’s coming up next.”
Layla has stayed mostly private since stepping away from WWE, but her name still means something to fans who remember the Divas Era. She may not be on television every week anymore, but WWE clearly gave her a platform that still opens doors.
