Layla El is still connected to WWE history, but she is not sitting on the couch every week watching every second of the product.
While speaking with Denise Salcedo in Hollywood, the former WWE Divas Champion was asked if she still keeps up with WWE’s weekly programming. Layla kept it real and admitted she is not a weekly viewer these days.
“Um I don’t. Honestly, I don’t do weekly. I’ll be honest with you, but I always like start watching around like the WrestleMania time, because that’s like my favorite.”
Layla explained that Royal Rumble season is usually when WWE starts pulling her back in. That makes sense, because it is the road to WrestleMania, and that is when WWE starts loading the machine with returns, surprises, and major storylines.
“Especially when the Royal Rumble’s coming up, stuff like that. That’s when I really start watching.”
Even though she is not locked into every episode, Layla said she still keeps up through social media. Like a lot of fans, clips are enough to keep her in the loop until someone grabs her attention.
“But, I still keep up to date with like social media these days, cuz you get to see like, you know, little clips of everything, stuff like that. So, I’m not such an avid like watcher, but I will tune in, especially if there’s someone who catches my eye.”
Layla may not be watching WWE week-to-week anymore, but she still knows when the big season hits. Royal Rumble and WrestleMania time still gets her attention, and that says plenty about how strong that stretch of WWE’s calendar remains.
