Zilla Fatu has apparently made himself a problem for BirthRight, and William Regal wants his own son to be the one who deals with it. After what happened last week, Regal has given Charlie Dempsey a pretty simple assignment for tonight’s NXT: take care of Fatu and bring him back a piece of him.
WWE took to Twitter ahead of the September 8 episode of NXT and uploaded a new video featuring BirthRight with William Regal and Fit Finlay. Last week’s confrontation with Fatu clearly hasn’t been forgotten, and the two veterans weren’t interested in letting things slide.
Regal specifically turned to Dempsey and made it clear that this one was his responsibility. He wants his son to deal with Fatu tonight, going as far as telling him to bring back a “piece” of him when he’s finished.
“After last week’s confrontation, @RealKingRegal and @ringfox1 want BirthRight, and specifically Charlie Dempsey, to handle Zilla Fatu TONIGHT on #WWENXT…”
That puts Dempsey directly in Fatu’s path just one week after things started getting heated between him and BirthRight. Regal and Finlay have now thrown their weight behind the group, but when it came time to answer Fatu, Dempsey was the man Regal chose to send.
There was already plenty happening on tonight’s NXT before this situation entered the picture. Kelani Jordan will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Jaida Parker, while Jackson Drake puts the NXT North American Championship on the line against Tavion Heights.
Saquon Shugars, Cruz Montana, EK Prosper, Mason Rook, Tony D’Angelo and Keanu Carver are also set to compete in a six-man tag team match after all six men confronted NXT Champion Grayson Waller last week.
None of that changes the assignment Dempsey just received. His father wants Zilla Fatu handled tonight, and telling Charlie to bring back a piece of him makes it pretty clear Regal isn’t expecting this issue to be settled with a handshake.
