WrestleMania 42’s attendance was lower than the number WWE announced—and new figures from the Las Vegas Stadium Authority show just how much the event dropped from the previous year.
According to POST Wrestling, the Stadium Authority recorded 47,093 attendees for WrestleMania 42 Saturday and 50,033 for Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. That puts the two-night total at 97,126, considerably below the 106,071 WWE announced during the event.
More importantly, the same Stadium Authority numbers show a major year-over-year decline. WrestleMania 41 drew 58,538 on Saturday and 60,103 on Sunday according to the authority, totaling 118,641. That means WrestleMania attendance dropped by 21,515 people—or roughly 18%—from 2025 to 2026.
It isn’t just one set of numbers pointing in that direction either. WrestleTix estimated 121,540 tickets distributed for WrestleMania 41 compared to 102,092 for WrestleMania 42, a decline of roughly 16%. WWE’s own announced attendance went from 124,693 in 2025 to 106,071 this year, a drop of around 15%.
So while the totals are different, all three measurements show essentially the same thing: WrestleMania attendance was down between 15% and 18% in WWE’s second consecutive year in Las Vegas.
The Stadium Authority numbers also put WWE’s original WrestleMania 42 announcement into a different light. Just days after the event, WWE celebrated more than 106,000 attendees across the weekend while calling WrestleMania 42 one of the highest-grossing events in company history.
“Across two nights at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, attendance reached 106,072 with tickets purchased from all 50 states and more than 69 countries.”
Exactly what the Stadium Authority is counting remains unclear. POST Wrestling noted that it isn’t known whether its figures represent tickets sold, tickets distributed, tickets actually used or another attendance measurement. So the 97,126 figure shouldn’t simply be treated as a direct replacement for WWE’s announced number.
But the year-over-year comparison is much harder to ignore. WWE’s live-events revenue was also down $33.7 million from the previous year’s WrestleMania quarter, with TKO attributing the difference “almost exclusively” to WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
WWE President Nick Khan had already acknowledged that returning to Las Vegas for a second straight WrestleMania was his decision and suggested the company may not repeat that strategy.
“That was ultimately my decision. Maybe we don’t do that one again in terms of back-to-back, but ultimately it ended up being a successful event.”
WrestleMania 42 was still a massive event for WWE, and the company pointed to record digital engagement, 32 marketing partners and strong business across the weekend. But months after WWE celebrated more than 106,000 attendees, another set of numbers has arrived.
The Las Vegas Stadium Authority has WrestleMania 42 at 97,126 attendees—and more than 21,000 below the previous year’s event at the exact same stadium.
