Lacey Evans wasn’t kidding when she said her daughter had talked her into wrestling again. Nearly three years after her last match, the former WWE star is finally back inside a wrestling ring and putting in the work for an eventual return.
Evans took to Instagram on September 13 and uploaded footage from D-Von Dudley’s wrestling school, where she has officially started training again. Five minutes was apparently enough to remind her what wrestling conditioning feels like.
“Already blown up. It’s been five minutes. That’s okay, this mother****** is about to whip me into shape. Say…”
The video showed that Evans wasn’t simply stopping by for a visit either. She ran the ropes, worked through tie-ups and headlocks, delivered a shoulder block and even took a scoop slam as she started getting her body accustomed to wrestling again. It’s the clearest sign yet that Evans is serious about eventually getting back in the ring.
That journey actually started with her daughter, Sunny. Back in April, Evans revealed that a simple conversation at home had convinced her to reconsider wrestling after spending years sounding perfectly comfortable with leaving that part of her life behind.

That was a major change from how Evans had previously spoken about wrestling following her WWE departure in 2023. She openly admitted WWE was never her passion and said she didn’t miss being there, leaving little reason to expect another run.
Evans also hasn’t wrestled a match since July 2023. There’s still no announced date, opponent or promotion for her eventual comeback, so she clearly has some road left before actually stepping back between the ropes for a match.
The difference now is that this has moved beyond an Instagram tease. Evans has put the boots back on, started taking bumps and discovered within five minutes that D-Von Dudley has some work to do with her conditioning.
