LA Knight didn’t just respond to his viral WWE Unreal moment with words—he turned his frustration into merchandise.
Speaking during WWE Now at Fanatics Fest, Knight revealed that his “Unchosen” T-shirt was never part of the original plan. Instead, it came together after the backstage clip from WWE Unreal Season 2 went viral, showing him being confronted in Gorilla Position following the finish of the Money in the Bank 2025 match. According to Knight, he already had a completely different shirt ready to launch before deciding to change course at the last minute.
“I had a completely different shirt that was coming out, and that clip you were talking about, a week before the shirt was coming out. I was like, ‘We’re gonna change this s**t right now.’ Just make it Unchosen and then put ‘My Way’ on the back, because that’s how I do things, whether I’m chosen or not, why? Because the people chose me.”
Knight admitted the decision wasn’t driven by marketing or sales projections. It was simply his reaction to seeing the clip spread across social media.
“Was it the best selling shirt of all time? Probably not, but it was just me, in rage, just going, ‘We’re gonna do this my way.'”
He also addressed the WWE Unreal footage itself for the first time, although he stopped short of explaining exactly what happened behind the scenes. Knight made it clear he doesn’t entirely agree with how the moment has been portrayed.
“There’s a lot to address with that that I’m not going to now, but I’ll just say, my version of things is a little different…”
Rather than dwell on the controversy, Knight said he’d rather focus on the support he’s received from fans, crediting them for embracing the “Unchosen” message that inspired the shirt in the first place.
“So thank you for choosing me, that’s all I’m saying.”
What started as one of the most talked-about moments from WWE Unreal ultimately became fuel for LA Knight’s next merchandise release. Instead of letting the viral clip define the conversation, he turned it into something his supporters could wear, making the “Unchosen” shirt his own response to the controversy.
