LA Knight fans probably aren’t going to like this one, as Jonathan Coachman claimed the Megastar has heat with the office in WWE.

After Knight took the pin in the King of the Ring fatal four-way on SmackDown, fans were already furious that Jey Uso moved on instead. Now Jonathan Coachman is saying there may be a bigger reason behind it than just tournament booking.

While speaking on Two Count Tuesday, Coachman claimed LA Knight has heat with the office in WWE. According to him, WWE knows Knight is too popular to just pull from television, but he believes the company also does not want him getting any bigger than he already is.

Coachman said WWE will still use Knight because fans would notice immediately if he disappeared. He even imagined WWE trying to smooth things over with him by reminding him he is still being given promo time.

“I can only imagine because I’ve seen it so many times with my own two eyes when they write stuff and they try to… and this is what they do. They’ll walk up and say, ‘Hey man.’ And they used to call us on Friday and say, ‘Here’s what you’re going to be doing.’ They call LA Knight and Triple H is like, ‘Listen, man. Forget about what everybody saw in Unreal, man. We need you right now. You know, right now you’re one of our main guys. That’s why we’re giving you your own promo segment.’”

Then Jonathan Coachman pointed to the fatal four-way itself. In his eyes, it mattered that Knight was the one who took the pin when WWE had other options in the match. That is where Coachman made his strongest claim. He said Knight has heat backstage, but WWE still needs him because of how good he is on the mic and how loudly fans react to him.

“Well, then what about last week in a fatal four-way? People need to understand in a fatal four-way, it’s not how you lose, but if you take the one, two, three, that’s a big deal. Who did they pin in that fatal four-way? They pinned LA Knight. You could have pinned Finn Balor. Hell, you could have pinned Royce Keys for whatever reason.

He’s got heat with the office, as we like to say, and they know they need to use him. They need him on the mic, but they don’t want to have him get over. And this is the result of that, which is absolutely been…”

Jonathan Coachman also said that if he were Knight, he would be angry, especially because Knight is already 44 years old and does not have unlimited time to wait for WWE to fully get behind him.

“If I was LA Knight, I would be beyond pissed because he’s also 44 years old now and he doesn’t have five or ten years to get back in the good graces. His time’s over. And you’re right, he’s got to walk because he can make a lot of money in the next two to three years.”

That lines up with the earlier WrestleVotes claim that WWE trusts Jey Uso more than LA Knight, with concerns existing about Knight’s in-ring mistakes and coachability. So while fans may see Knight as one of WWE’s most over acts, the latest comments suggest there may be internal hesitation about how far the company really wants to push him.

Bottom line, LA Knight is still getting TV time, still getting reactions, and still has fans behind him. But if Coachman is right, WWE may be using him because they have to, not because they plan to truly strap the rocket to him.
