Jey Uso punched his ticket forward in the King of the Ring tournament, but a lot of fans were not happy about it.
During the June 12 edition of SmackDown, Jey Uso defeated LA Knight, Finn Balor, and Royce Keys in a chaotic Fatal Four-Way first-round match. The bout spilled all over the arena, included a Shield-style powerbomb through the announce table, outside interference from Solo Sikoa, and several close calls before Uso finally scored the win with a splash.
After the show, fans took to Twitter to complain about WWE moving Uso ahead in the tournament. One fan made it clear they felt Jey did not deserve the win: “Your program is dead. Jey Uso doesn’t deserve to advance”
Another fan was even harsher and accused WWE of continuing to favor Bloodline-related names: “F*** these nepo f****** roman c*** sucking clowns” A different fan argued WWE should have gone with LA Knight instead, while criticizing Jey’s in-ring style and presentation.
“Why the f*** are they still pushing jey all he does is super kick people change his song and want it played over and over, when are WWE going to realise what’s best for business, and everybody’s saying L.A NIGHT…… YEAH”
Another fan was furious that WWE passed over LA Knight and Finn Balor in favor of Uso and went after Triple H: “LA KNIGHT FIN BALOR BUT NAH YOU PICK THIS F****** ASS MR. BOTCH KING HIMSELF. F****** P**** TRIPLE H.” One more fan said they were tired of Jey’s push and even suggested Randy Orton should take him out and replace him in the tournament.
“Enough is enough
We have had enough of Jey Uso push the last 2 years
We don’t need this garbage again and again
Just have Randy take out Jey Uso and replace him
Can’t see Jey Uso get over pushed and forced down our throats from time to time
Just stop.”
The match itself gave WWE plenty of drama, with Royce Keys looking dominant at several points and LA Knight also getting strong crowd support. Still, WWE went with Jey Uso in the end, and that decision clearly split fans online.
Jey Uso is moving forward, whether fans like it or not, but the reaction shows WWE may have another heated debate on its hands. Uso remains one of the company’s most pushed stars, and every major win seems to bring both loud support and loud backlash.
